むむむ…

Sunday May 11, 2008 at 12:14 PM (EDT) by Cyberstorm

Interesting note: {Hmmm.} in the auto-translator shows up as {むむむ。} (mumumu) in the Japanese client. The mumumu part made me lol…

…Anyway…

I finally finished my Elemental Magic skill merits… Only having Black Mage at level 75 forever.

Elemental Skill modification level 8

And now that Elemental Magic is done, it’s time to start doing Enfeebling Magic. I got it to level 2 before I started hating merit parties again.

Sea time! I got another new piece of gear from sea, an Astute Cape (from Ix’DRG)! This will be armor piece #129 that is ex in my collection.

Obtained: Vice of Aspersion

Obtained: Astute Cape

As of right now, I have two jobs that are close to 75 that I never level. One is Dark Knight, the other is Thief. What I’ll probably end up doing is using Thief in Campaign to keep my rank (which is about to delevel AGAIN! GRR), and maybe do the same on Dark Knight. Dark Knight’s invite rate is super poor sadly, which leaves me LFP for a good 4+ hours before I get a party invite.

However, I did get a good party not too long ago and I did hit level 69…

The last 5 levels will be good. At 70 I get O. hat and Fire Bombet, 72 I get Dusk Gloves, 73 I get Perdu Sickle, 75 I get Askar, Brutal Earring, and W. Turban. I’m sure there’s other things I’m forgetting about in that range, but it’ll be good. :3

Adventures in Sea and San d’Oria

Wednesday February 06, 2008 at 11:14 PM (EST) by Cyberstorm

So last monday, only about 7 people showed up for sea (we had over 18 show up on Saturday). So we went off to do the standard Ix’aerns with our small group, as with our low skill, we couldn’t do much else.

So we start off by trying to pop Ix’DRK, but without any luck.

So then we move to Ix’MNK, and after about an hour of sucking, we finally get to the ??? that spawns him. The fight goes mildly well, only a few deaths here and there (me being one of them, sadly). However, we finally got a cape drop.

And so the bidding starts:

Me: 30 points

img_20080205_000147.png

It seemed we had mostly new members show up, and there were only two people who had over 30 points (which was the minimum bid for the cape). And as luck would have it, no one wanted the cape.

I also got my 4th sea gorget today, a Snow Gorget. I got it for Raging Rush, along with Guillotine, Cross Reaper and Spiral Hell.

And in other news, I’m finally Rank 10 all nations! Finished the San d’Oria missions this morning at around 4AM.

Now to switch back to Windurst once it’s no longer in 1st place, as I don’t want to spend 40,000G to transfer back.

Recap on the past Month

Friday February 01, 2008 at 07:29 PM (EST) by Cyberstorm

Well, the second semester of my college started up, so I haven’t really had as much time to play FFXI as I normally do. However, I have had plenty of time to update my blog.

But I’m lazy.

I was hoping to finish writing this by the end of January, but I looked at the calendar and saw that it was February already, so I guess I suck.

Since the last real update, I’ve gotten a few levels on not just Dark Knight, but Paladin too. I know I said I’d never level Paladin again, but what I really meant, was that I would never level Paladin again in an EXP party.

It took me about 5 days to go from level 70 Paladin to level 74 Paladin, only doing Campaign battles. Then school started and I stopped doing Campaign battles altogether, which seems to have stopped my Paladin dead in its tracks. I’ll eventually get back into doing them (so I don’t lose my rank), and my Paladin is only about 23,000 exp away from hitting 75.

Speaking of Campaign, I’ve gotten 4 ranks since the last update.

As for the other job I was leveling, Dark Knight, that too has stopped pretty much dead in its tracks at level 64. Shortly before school started up again, the static with Rilian, Pururunnyan, and I broke, as we felt that with school, it would be better to party on our own. Sadly, Rilian’s college blocks the ports FFXI uses to play, leaving him unable to even get past the PlayOnline version check, leaving me without a bard.

Sea with JailersElite has been going pretty well. I managed to get my first real item from them (I’m not counting that Hope Staff, which everyone but me passed so it was auto-sorted to me), my Fortitude Axe! I see why Rilian likes his. With Virtue Stones in my ammo slot, the axe has a chance of hitting 1-4 times per attack round. Getting over 16 TP a hit can result in full TP in only 2 attack rounds.

Of course, now that I have a good Great Axe (that was free), I needed to level my Great Axe skill to get a decent Weapon Skill, as Sturmwind wasn’t cutting it for me. So it was off to Kuftal Tunnel to go kill some Robber Crabs and get to 200 skill level for Raging Rush. However, Great Axe skillups weren’t the only thing I got that night. That’s right! Parry skillups. :3

Of course, I also got Great Axe skillups. :p

I’ve taken up another hobby in FFXI too. Noranda, Shiorichan, and I are getting rank 10 in all nations. We’ve already gotten rank 10 in Windy and Bastok, and we’re currently rank 7 in Sandy.

Hopefully I’ll get rank 10 next week sometime (Noranda has stuff to do this weekend so we’re on hold). Hopefully I’ll also update more often. :p All for now~

I need to update more

Tuesday December 18, 2007 at 01:28 PM (EST) by Cyberstorm

So my original idea of updating everyday doesn’t really work, since there’s usually not much to say. I try to update time-to-time, but there’s rarely enough to update on that makes more than a sentence.

However, since plenty of time has passed since I last updated, there are a few things to touch up on.

I have been leveling Scholar for a little while now, and I have to say, it sucks. I think at later levels it will be cool, but these lower levels really, really suck. I did just hit 32 the other day though.

Once I got Seer’s +1 gear (and now solid wand and black cape +1), my nukes are actually worth casting. I rarely get asked to main heal, although it’s pretty easy at these levels with regen and low level cures. Regen II is not far off (level 35-37, somewhere around there), which will make main healing even easier.

I finally broke down and did the two new Gobbiebags. I regret doing that now, as the Adaman Ingot price is dropping fast now, already someone got it for 50k cheaper than I did. I ended up spending 276,000 gil total on it (would’ve been even more if I didn’t quest the Deathstone and Angelstone). But it is nice to now have 70 slots instead of 60. All they need to do now to make me even happier is expand the mog locker to like 100 slots. That would be awesome!

The Thief hit 71 about 2 weeks ago. Not much to say about that, other than now I need to break my dagger. Eventually.

img_20071204_132553.png

In even older news, the day I hit 70 thf, Rilian and I went Thief Knife farming. After about 24? (something like that) kills, the pop item needed to spawn Sozu Rogberry dropped. However, while farming for the pop item, we had a death.

img_20071203_201214.png

Damn bees. But we did kill Sozu Rogberry easily enough.

img_20071203_201520.png

So then we had an hour to kill, so we went farming for another pop item, and got it within 3-4 kills.

img_20071203_202534.png

Knives for all!

After Scholar hit 32, I decided to put some of the merits I had laying around in my pool into magic skills. I did some math, and at level 75 and with Dark Arts up, SCH can reach just below an A+ (4 under) skill in elemental magic (with 8 elemental magic merits). So that means, SCH may be as useful as BLM in some cases. Maybe.

In other news, I have re-joined a sea shell on my server, JailersElite. They’re not a bad linkshell, although we do die a lot to things I don’t think we should. But it’s fun, and I make back the exp I lose from dying.

So far the only thing I’ve obtained from them is a brand new staff, which I didn’t even want (I zoned to go back to the safehold, and by doing so my pass went to nothing, thus making it auto-sort to me) .

img_20071216_010021.png

I almost got a Justice sword from them last night, but I fucked up when casting a spell and hit an outside monster and got us all killed. Oh well, accidents happen.

That’s all for now!
