Woah? Two posts in one day? You bet.
I have just finished writing a little plugin for wordpress that gzips (compresses) all the pages that get sent to the browser. This should hopefully mean faster page loads. However, I’m not 100% confident in my ability to not make a mistake, which is why I’m making this entry.
I know some browsers don’t like gzipped pages, at all. If for some reason a page doesn’t load, or a stylesheet doesn’t render properly, please email me (cyberstorm240 at gmail dot com) or comment somewhere (hopefully here).
Edit: I have just tested my blog on Firefox 3.0.1, Safari 3.1.2, Internet Explorer 7, and Internet Explorer 8. Besides IE8, everything looks great. I’m not going to fix my blog for IE8. Ever. IE7 has a few weird quirks that I can’t fix because of it’s lack of support for proper CSS. I don’t have Opera installed on my work PC (or at home), so if someone could test it and make sure it works that would be cool.
Edit 2: I installed Opera on my work PC and my blog looks just as good as it does in Firefox. Sadly, I forgot to update my blog files at work and I reuploaded part of the template and lost a change I made last night (the search bar I put at the top is no longer there lawl!). I’ll go home and reupload it from there tonight.

Look at that! I’m not dead!
I have changed the blog’s design (again). I think the way it looks now is a little nicer (although I didn’t really change much). I think the images brighten it up some too. I did have to move some things around though…
I have decided to make the sidebar smaller in size, by deleting the second one I had. Now I only have one, so with limited stuff some things had to go and some things got changed/added:
- The blogroll that was on every page has a new home, you can see a link to it at the top of every page. I feel bad for moving it, since google and other search engines were picking up those links on every page and hopefully giving other blogs more traffic (the whole 5 hits a day I get lawl). But I had to get rid of something!
- The tag cloud that looked horrible is also gone. It too has a page of its own now. It actually looks really good when it has its own page I think.
- To save space, I have gotten rid of “Filed in xxx,yyy” for categories and “Tags: zzz” for tags. Categories now have an orange tag folder icon next to them, and tags have a blue tag next to them. Yay color coding!
- The pingback link/large block of text that was at the bottom of the full view of each post’s page is gone. I was hoping to keep the pingback link in (not that it’s ever been used ever!), but I hated the look of it so it’s GONE.
That’s really all for now. I’m sure I’ll get bored and continue to work on it once and awhile. If you visit and something looks really horrible, it’s probably in the process of being changed. (Example: I just changed the way the comments look. During the 30 minutes it took for me to be happy, the page looked horrendous, not that anyone would ever notice)

I could be doing work right now, but my boss is at a meeting, so I’m hardly working, but working hard.
Small update, and it’s to the blog (since playing FFXI here would be over the top). I have removed a few inactive blogs from my small blog list (right side of every page), and replaced them with even more active FFXI blogs.
If you have a blog and want me to link it, comment or something and I’ll catch it. :p

I wanted to try out WordPress 2.5 (the newest one), and they are taking their swet time getting WordPress mu out and running, so I decided to ditch the mu blog. I was the only one using it, and I would never post anyway so it has died.
Nothing but spam bots too, they kept registering. So I’ve closed the mu blog’s registration, and I have a 304 redirect from all http://blogs.fungusamungusls.com/cyberstorm/ to http://blog.fungusamungusls.com/, keeping the same syntax you entered.
As with every move, most of the images are missing on the older posts (not that anyone reads those anyway), and I’ll eventaully get around to fixing those broken images.

I just can’t find anything I like ._.;
Hopefully I’ll be able to modify this one to fit what I want. I was just browsing around the net and found it, and it stuck out so here it is! I’m still in the process of fixing it up so it looks nice with the mods I’ve created and such.
Only thing I don’t like is going from having two sidebars to only one, which means I have to cram a lot of content into one little space. Oh well, I’ll just have to make due.
Also, the image with me singing is probably only temporary, I used it for the DeepBlueFungus logo when we started up again (for like a week, lawd), and decided I’d give it a try here. I’ll probably change it to something BLM related one day…

I have gone through and changed the encoding on all the tables in the database so that my blog (and all the blogs hosted on blogs.fungusamungusls.com) now support Japanese and other languages!

It took forever to figure out, but I finally found what the cause was. :3
In other news, I was looking at my only High School post I saved when I changed blogs, and it got me to thinking… I haven’t seen/spoken to anyone from High School (except on once) since I graduated. That one time was when one of my old friends dropped by my house while he was on the way to somewhere (can’t remember where). I wonder if it’s normal to not keep in touch with anyone from high school once you graduate.
My only theory is that I never truly liked any of my friends they were really just people I could… not connect with, but tolerate? Not sure what good non-negative word would be there. I don’t really miss anyone from high school, and I don’t feel bad about not keeping in touch with anyone really. Maybe not having any relationships with anyone makes it easy.
Oh well, just a thought… ┐(゜～゜)┌

It seems several of the plugins in my blog decided to shit themselves, so I have had no choice but to disable them.
Usersonline, Polls, and the Social Bookmarking links are the three big ones that are gone. Oh well, no big loss.

I have changed my blog’s style to one I think I’ll have more fun with. Sadly, I’ve had to hide the avatars as something in the sytlesheet has decided not to display them, but I’ll figure it out and fix it sooner or later. I’ll probably do some other stuff to the layout to make it more FFXI-ish.
Also, this will be post #12 for this month, making it my most updated month for posting thus far.

I’m in the process of adding past blog posts. I’m not adding all of them (for some were posts with movies in them, and those moves are long gone, and others were just shitty stuff I don’t want on my blog :p). It’s going very slow, and I take very long breaks because it’s not very fun. It is interesting to take a look back and see what I’ve done in the past 2 years since this blog has been up. Like, for example, how I once had 86 mil worth of gear. I bet if I did that right now, it would be much, much less. The prices in FFXI have really gone down, and a lot of that gear is no longer worth what it used to be.
Anyway, for the readers who read this blog (like Yahoo and Google bots), the posts should be completed by next week.
