in b4 winter break

Monday February 25, 2008 at 12:34 PM (EST) by Cyberstorm

Whoops, forgot to add this is my last entry…

Cyberstorm obtains a Parade Gorget.

I went 1/5 on that damn NM, with TH3. Also, he’s a bitch to solo at 71 THF without any evasion gear. He’s only really bad when he 2 hours and then double attacks, draining near 600 HP in one attack round.

Also, blog logo updated. I’m not sure if I like it though, may need some more work still…

Winter Break

Saturday February 23, 2008 at 03:05 PM (EST) by Cyberstorm

Last week was winter break, meaning I had the whole week off, and I didn’t update once (except to say that I added a new style).

So what has been going on? Not a whole lot.

Last Saturday (the 16th), I ranked up again in Campaign. Only two ranks left to go until I hit the top (for now)!

img_20080216_150646.png

DRK has stopped completely. Invites just suck. It takes a good 3-5 hours to get a party, and then it’s off to kill maybe 5 Imps before the party disbands. It took me from Friday to Wednesday to get one level.

img_20080220_170700.png

So Dark Knight may be 68 for a long time to come, which sucks since I liked it a lot… I even got a Perdu Sickle, which will be nice when I finally do level it to 73.

img_20080223_144026.png
img_20080217_212943.png

Before I got Dark Knight to 68, I went into two Besieges on Warrior and got my Scythe skill to 240 so I could get Spiral Hell.

Cyberstorm’s Scythe skill reaches level 240.

So I tele’d out to Kuftal and started working on breaking scythe. In the process, my parry leveled to 185. :D

Cyberstorm’s Parrying skill reaches level 185.

And after a few hours and some help, I got the WS, which, as it turns out, sucks a whole lot…

You learn the weapon skill “Spiral Hell”!

Maybe at level 72 when I can use my sea gorgets, it’ll be better… Maybe…

Last Wednesday, after my Dark Knight party disbanded, I got a party on my Red Mage. It was your standard RDM, BRD, WAR, WAR, DRK, MNK party on Colibri. Ended up getting 21,000 exp/hr and a total of 34415 exp. It was fun too, a little stressful at times, but no one died and we never lost the chain, so it was good. :p

Limit Chain 171! Cyberstorm get’s her 8th merit.

And it didn’t stop there :p, we killed one more after it.

img_20080220_235827.png

The last party I had that was like this was on July 31st, 2007. Only last time I was the Bard that was pulling, and we had two bards in that party.

So what did I end up spending those merits on? I decided to put them into Bard and Black Mage…

Finale and Minuet merits

Ice Potency reaches level 2 and 3.

Yesterday I spent some time doing the last two S.O.B. quests to get my Promise Badge. It’s been a really long time since I’ve done a quest, and I didn’t want to buy it (50,000G on the AH), so I sucked it up and quested it. The quest wasn’t so bad, the only thing that sucked was getting the coffer key (1/42 on it), and then getting the weed off of spiders in Kuftal (1/12-ish). Took me a good 4 hours or so, but it was worth it…

Promise Badge
img_20080222_145129.png

With that, I now have enough MND (4 more than I need actually) and Enhancing skill to have stoneskin’s potency capped on Black Mage. Seems like kind of a lame reason really, but the badge was free, and it means I can sell my Holy Phial (which I already have) for 10,000G. :p

So that’s all that’s happened this week. I’ll probably spend some more time meriting on Red Mage/Bard so I can finish off Ice Potency and work on my Elemental and Enfeebling magic merits…

New Style (Again)

Friday February 22, 2008 at 11:59 PM (EST) by Cyberstorm

I just can’t find anything I like ._.;

Hopefully I’ll be able to modify this one to fit what I want. I was just browsing around the net and found it, and it stuck out so here it is! I’m still in the process of fixing it up so it looks nice with the mods I’ve created and such.

Only thing I don’t like is going from having two sidebars to only one, which means I have to cram a lot of content into one little space. Oh well, I’ll just have to make due.

Also, the image with me singing is probably only temporary, I used it for the DeepBlueFungus logo when we started up again (for like a week, lawd), and decided I’d give it a try here. I’ll probably change it to something BLM related one day…

…one day…

Job Update

Monday February 11, 2008 at 10:22 AM (EST) by Cyberstorm

It was Janurary 30th, 2007 when my Paladin hit level 70. Since then, I have stopped leveling Paladin and sold all my gear.

Then, Campaign was released. It allowed me to get exp without doing my job. It took me only 5 days to get Paladin from level 70 to level 74. PLD/NIN is actually a really good DD in Campaign it seems, and it’s also easy to get loads of exp (2000-3000) a round.

Sadly, school started back up and I had to stop doing Campaign battles for awhile. I finally got around to going back and doing some last night (to keep from ranking down). I actually ranked up to the first emblem, and just now realized that I forgot to screenshot it. Oh well. >_>;

Anyway, I managed to get 20k exp in Campaign, and so I hit level 75 finally on Paladin!

img_20080210_225813.png

I think they should add Cyberstorm attains level 75! after the battles so people can tell when you level up. :p

Side note: yes, I do need to recap shield and sword now. Since you don’t get skillups with allied tags on (and no exp without allied tags), my sword and shield are capped at what they would be if I was a 70 Paladin. Oh well, I can just go PLD/NIN in a merit party and skillup there.

Sunday morning (yesterday), I had a shitty party on Dark Knight in Caedarva Mire. A level 66-67 party is a terrible idea for there. We even had a powerlevel and still wiped (along with the PL) several times. Took forever, but I finally got the 5000 exp I needed to level up and some buffer before we disbanded.

img_20080210_125734.png

Hopefully my next party will go much better than that one did…

Adventures in Sea and San d’Oria

Wednesday February 06, 2008 at 11:14 PM (EST) by Cyberstorm

So last monday, only about 7 people showed up for sea (we had over 18 show up on Saturday). So we went off to do the standard Ix’aerns with our small group, as with our low skill, we couldn’t do much else.

So we start off by trying to pop Ix’DRK, but without any luck.

So then we move to Ix’MNK, and after about an hour of sucking, we finally get to the ??? that spawns him. The fight goes mildly well, only a few deaths here and there (me being one of them, sadly). However, we finally got a cape drop.

img_20080205_000100.png

And so the bidding starts:

Me: 30 points

img_20080205_000147.png

It seemed we had mostly new members show up, and there were only two people who had over 30 points (which was the minimum bid for the cape). And as luck would have it, no one wanted the cape.

img_20080205_034903.png

I also got my 4th sea gorget today, a Snow Gorget. I got it for Raging Rush, along with Guillotine, Cross Reaper and Spiral Hell.

img_20080206_231102.png
img_20080206_153342.png

And in other news, I’m finally Rank 10 all nations! Finished the San d’Oria missions this morning at around 4AM.

img_20080206_035642.png
img_20080206_035615.png

Now to switch back to Windurst once it’s no longer in 1st place, as I don’t want to spend 40,000G to transfer back.

Recap on the past Month

Friday February 01, 2008 at 07:29 PM (EST) by Cyberstorm

Well, the second semester of my college started up, so I haven’t really had as much time to play FFXI as I normally do. However, I have had plenty of time to update my blog.

But I’m lazy.

I was hoping to finish writing this by the end of January, but I looked at the calendar and saw that it was February already, so I guess I suck.

Since the last real update, I’ve gotten a few levels on not just Dark Knight, but Paladin too. I know I said I’d never level Paladin again, but what I really meant, was that I would never level Paladin again in an EXP party.

It took me about 5 days to go from level 70 Paladin to level 74 Paladin, only doing Campaign battles. Then school started and I stopped doing Campaign battles altogether, which seems to have stopped my Paladin dead in its tracks. I’ll eventually get back into doing them (so I don’t lose my rank), and my Paladin is only about 23,000 exp away from hitting 75.

Speaking of Campaign, I’ve gotten 4 ranks since the last update.

img_20080123_020908.png

As for the other job I was leveling, Dark Knight, that too has stopped pretty much dead in its tracks at level 64. Shortly before school started up again, the static with Rilian, Pururunnyan, and I broke, as we felt that with school, it would be better to party on our own. Sadly, Rilian’s college blocks the ports FFXI uses to play, leaving him unable to even get past the PlayOnline version check, leaving me without a bard.

Sea with JailersElite has been going pretty well. I managed to get my first real item from them (I’m not counting that Hope Staff, which everyone but me passed so it was auto-sorted to me), my Fortitude Axe! I see why Rilian likes his. With Virtue Stones in my ammo slot, the axe has a chance of hitting 1-4 times per attack round. Getting over 16 TP a hit can result in full TP in only 2 attack rounds.

img_20080119_232102.png

Of course, now that I have a good Great Axe (that was free), I needed to level my Great Axe skill to get a decent Weapon Skill, as Sturmwind wasn’t cutting it for me. So it was off to Kuftal Tunnel to go kill some Robber Crabs and get to 200 skill level for Raging Rush. However, Great Axe skillups weren’t the only thing I got that night. That’s right! Parry skillups. :3

img_20080120_171951.png

Of course, I also got Great Axe skillups. :p

img_20080120_235820.png

I’ve taken up another hobby in FFXI too. Noranda, Shiorichan, and I are getting rank 10 in all nations. We’ve already gotten rank 10 in Windy and Bastok, and we’re currently rank 7 in Sandy.

img_20080127_201949.png
img_20080127_201332.png

Hopefully I’ll get rank 10 next week sometime (Noranda has stuff to do this weekend so we’re on hold). Hopefully I’ll also update more often. :p All for now~
